Enod Gray
LCSW, CSAT, Certified EMDR Practitioner

I am a clinical social worker, certified sex addiction therapist, professional life coach and certified EMDR practitioner (Eye Movement, Desensitization and Reprocessing) with over twenty years experience in private practice.

I trained with Dr. Patrick Carnes in 2001 in the treatment of sexual addiction and partner trauma and have specialized in the treatment of addictions, complex PTSD, childhood abuse and neglect and a variety of other conditions. A special interest of mine is the connection between Spirit and body and how such practices as mindfulness, meditation, prayer and body and energy work can enhance transformation and healing. I advocate 12 step work as a way to connect with others and heal.

In addition, I have done extensive training with Pia Mellody in the Post Induction Training (PIT) model of addressing family of origin issues. It is through this exceptional model that I addressed my own childhood trauma.

Studying Imago Relationship Therapy, the work of Dr. Stan Tatkin (the PACT model) and an externship with Dr. Sue Johnson in Emotionally Focused Therapy has given me a strong foundation of knowledge and expertise in helping couples (re)gain intimacy and connection.

For betrayed partners I support the work of Dr. Rob Weiss’s Prodependence model. This model focuses on empathy and gentle guidance through early crisis to empowerment, never shaming, blaming or labeling the partner.

I offer both in office and telehealth coaching groups for betrayed partners using this model and a workbook I have written called Healing Steps for Partners: Using the Twelve Steps of Empowerment for Non-Addicted Partners.

Also available are weekend family of origin intensives called “Returning to Your True Self” using the PIT model. Please check the Events section of my website for dates.

Finally, I want you to know about my first book Neglect-The Silent Abuser: How to Recognize and Heal from Childhood Neglect, available on Amazon. You may also wish to read review on my book page.

My Philosophy

In spite of the fact that our society is one of the most prosperous ever, we still suffer from what we call "a poverty of spirit." "A poverty of spirit" refers to a gnawing emptiness inside representing a spiritual void that many attempt to fill with things, other people or various addictive substances or practices. People appear to be longing for truly intimate relationships and a greater sense of community and connection.

To fill this spiritual void, false substitutes are, unfortunately, lulling people into addictions that rob them of true peace and make the situation worse. These substitutes may range from compulsive shopping, unhealthy relationships, violent outbursts, or TV/internet addictions to alcohol, cocaine or sexual addiction. We can become addicted to just about anything in our society.

Fortunately, there is hope and healing for individuals and, therefore, for couples, groups and the community at large. When individuals begin to wake up and become acquainted with their inner guidance system, which represents their True Selves, a spiritual connection is made and the individuals can continue on to greater levels of personal growth and success in all areas of their lives. Recovery from sex/love addiction is possible.
